The industry and handicraft of developing specialized knives and cutting tools has started in ancient times, in Maniago (Italy).
The founder of Mac, Di Bon Giovanny, started working in a knives factory at a young age of 14, and founded his own company in 1936, that grew from a small family business to the present Mac Coltellerie, focussing on small and souvenir type knives.
The founder’s son Roberto had a taste for experience sports and recognised the growing demand for diving and hunting knives and quickly became a producer of nautical, fishing and rescue knives.
Despite growing the firm significantly since inception, the Mac Coltellerie remains a family business developing its own moulds and manufacturing all its knives in Italy.
