Finger reels are a great safety tool for scuba divers and spearfishers. You can safely deploy your surface marker buoy, map out a dive site, use it to penetrate wrecks and caves and find your way out.
A speargun reel is attached to the bottom of the barrel of the gun, usually near the handle. It is designed to hold a dyneema line, which is spooled on the reel. The line can measure anywhere from 20 meters to 50 meters in length and is securely connected to the spear. The reel allows the hunter to take precise aim before shooting the spear, as well as providing the ability to easily retrieve the spear after a successful hunt. The dyneema line also makes it easier to control the spear, allowing the hunter to adjust the trajectory and make sure the spear travels in the right direction.
